I've never been to that area, but have always wanted to see it.
I know a lot of you live around there. Any good hints, things to see, itineraries you would recommend?

Autumn trip to Boston, Vermont, Washington... |

A couple of friends and I were bantering about the idea of taking a trip to Boston, Vermont, NH, Washington, etc. in late Sept, early Oct for a week to 10
days.

Post more pics of Baby James!
I think we're just looking forward to a road trip and to see the scenery and look at little shops and stuff. We'll do the touristy things while in Boston and Washington, but don't really know what route we'll take. Planning on renting a car though. Thanks for the tips, people! |

I guess when you travel as far as Empiem will be traveling it becomes trivial, but Boston and Washington (DC in case there is another one other than the state)
are not exactly close to each other.

Aren't they within driving distance of each other, Ghost? We'll probably fly into Boston and then drive north (I'll have to look at a map again).
We'll take a week to 10 days to see it all, so I think we'll be able to fit a lot in.

Washington is like an 8 hour drive from Boston. You've got New York City, Philadelphia and Baltimore in between.

Empiem, if I were you I'd try to get to the White Mountains in New Hampshire. The Kancamagus Highway is beautiful.

You might consider flying into Boston, renting a car for the northern loop around there and then taking the Acela train down to Washington. Maybe they might
have a pass that would let you get off and spend a day or two in New York and Philadelphia. Then rent another car in Washington for the Maryland, DC, Northern
Virginia area. Maybe you could fly home from Dulles or BWI.
