I've never been to that area, but have always wanted to see it. I know a lot of you live around there. Any good hints, things to see, itineraries you would recommend?

I think we're just looking forward to a road trip and to see the scenery and look at little shops and stuff. We'll do the touristy things while in Boston and Washington, but don't really know what route we'll take. Planning on renting a car though. Thanks for the tips, people!

We'll probably fly into Boston and then drive north (I'll have to look at a map again). We'll take a week to 10 days to see it all, so I think we'll be able to fit a lot in.

Maybe they might have a pass that would let you get off and spend a day or two in New York and Philadelphia. Then rent another car in Washington for the Maryland, DC, Northern Virginia area. Maybe you could fly home from Dulles or BWI.
